Green Revolution – It’s Over View in Punjab with Reference to Its Economy

Punjab from the beginning is and has been always considered as the agrarian state and also the state government and also with the help of the central government, has always tried to put in all the efforts in order to develop and grow the agro based industry in the state as this parameter accounts to about more than 60 percent of the living for the state and also has been found to contribute a lot to the central quota of the central government. For this in the early 1960 s, green revolution was introduced to the scene in India and the main focus after its introduction was the state of the Punjab taking major strides in increasing the productivity of the food grains, which mainly involved the increase in the production of the wheat and the rice. The term green revolution was at first used in the year of the 1908, by the former unites states agency for the use of the international development (USAID) director, William Guard, who was having a specific range of the characteristics like the spread of the new type of the technology in the field of the agriculture and also intending the production manifold. With the help of the green revolution, the state of the Punjab has been able to contribute a lot towards the central pool of the nation and as a result of this India has been able to become self sufficient and not at all depending on the other nations.

M Venkaiah Naidu recently took the oath of the office of the vice president of the India and along with this he also assumes his job as the ex officio chair man of the rajya sabha and hence will be required to balance the various types of the contrarian views that very usually come up by the various respective members of the rajya sabha. PLANNING IN INDIAN ECONOMY

The Planning commission in India is made by central body. The ex-officio chairman of this commission is the Prime Minister. This commission was constituted on 15th March, 1950. There is hardly any provision for Planning Commission in the Constitution of India. It was constituted in the form of a specialist and an advisory institution. The Union Cabinet constituted it on the proposal of the member of the parliament. The government has changed its structure and organization from time to time. The first Chairman of the Planning Commission was Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. There are different types of planning in the Indian economy. It includes Imperative Planning, Indicative Planning, Perspective Planning, Rolling Plan and Core Plan. In this type of planning the Central Planning authority takes decision upon every aspect of the economy and the targets that are fixed to achieve those goals are required to be followed strictly. This type of the planning is mainly followed in the socialist economies. In the indicative planning the state is likely to fix the broad parameters and aims for the economy. It is different from that of the centralized planning because in the latter one the state does not see the plans with the minute details and over view things on the broad parameter. It only indicates the aims and the targets that are required to be achieved.
