In the present era where the work force is under the influence of intensive competition accompanied by the various types of the good and the bad practices to win the competition it is very necessary for an individual or a group of individual to be having something that others are not having. One of the factors on which an individuals or a group of individual can work to have something better than the others that will separate them from the others is the parameter of having good communication skills. Communication should be such that the other party is able to understand what the person is trying to convey in a very decent manner. In the life of an individual maximum of the time that is spent in communicating if reviewed it has been observed that only few of such individuals are able to posses the mastery in the skills of the communication. The skills of the communication have a very important role in the life of an individual and also a whole when an individual or group of individual are performing in a particular organisation or a firm. The growth accompanied by the success of an individual is very much dependent on skills of communication a skills play very dominant play a very decisive part in framing the career of an individual professionally as well as personally. The researches that have been conducted in India as well as the whole world clearly suggests that creativity and the level of the intelligence play a very effective role in the growth of the career of an individual but only both of these are not enough at maximum times.

The fact suggests that the parameter that is lacking here is that of communication skills. So in the other words it can be said that sharp intelligence and the creativity alone cannot guarantee that the growth curve of an individual will surely zoom in upward direction and it is very necessary to convey the proceedings of the communication in a very solid form or in the other words on a very solid and the basic platform. Good communication skills directly correspond towards an ability of an individual to perform in a very effective manner and hence as a result of this to achieve the desired results or the targets that have been set according to the vision of an individual or as a whole by the organisation or the firm. Good communication skills are the basic need for becoming a good manager and this fact is very clearly supported by the various research work that have been conducted in the field of the managerial qualities. The growth and the success of any company or the firm or its individuals cannot be smooth if the communication is not at the required platform. The communication skills at a large amount of importance in the operations of the cultural diversification of an organization that ultimately are the producer and the supplier of the quality goods in the concerned respective markets. In turn services are provided with the help of the quality employees and to help these individuals there is a presence of various types of the electronic systems and the invoices. The communications can be said to be the basic requirement and the ingredient of any type of the organization irrespective of the field in which it is involved. The communication involves speaking, listening, writing, gesturing, reading and many more but in any of the organization if the facts are considered approximately more than half of the time of working of an organization is diverted in one or the other communication form. The amount of this time has been found to vary from an individual to individual also depending upon the profile or position of an individual like as an individual moves higher in the hierarchy towards managerial grade this particular time that is diverted to various forms of communication can be seventy five per cent at times but this is not the same in the case of the unskilled labour. As this profile has no need to spend a large amount of time in communication to work.

Total quality management of an organization involves the communication that is very basic and frequent in the nature and also this pattern varies in a normal organization to the bureaucratic pattern. From the starting the word communication is being used continuously and the focus of this article is also to have an in depth analysis of the word communication. So it is very necessary to know from where this word comes. The word communication is obviously an English word that comes from the Latin word ‘communis’ that means common. It basically means that the communication is actually an understanding that is very common with the help of the communion of the hearts as well as the minds. This fact depends on the attitude of an individual and how it is transmitted accompanied with the information that an individual or a group of individuals possess and the means that they choose to transfer the information that they are having. Communication can never be complete until the receiver is able to understand what the communicator is willing to say.

The study work or the research work that has been conducted by the various researchers in India and also world wide have revealed that the communication possess certain type of the features and is very necessary to follow all of these in the specified manner to excel in life personally as well as on the platform of the career. There have been a lot of the instances on the global stage and a lot of the experiences tend to happen in our day to day life as well when some one conveys us something but the other party to whom it is said is not able to make out. This can happen in the listening terms, speaking terms as well as in the writing terms. So in the other words it can be said that it is very necessary to convey but even more than that it is much more necessary to convey in a very descent and helpful manner so that the receiving party is able to understand and hence as a result of this can proceed further as per the requirement. The major requirement in this world for the survival is of the need to communicate between all of us and hence in the other words it can be said that at any cost and at maximum of the times it is not at all possible to avoid the communication and hence it is very necessary to keep the gap of the communication at the minimum of the levels. When we speak, write or even make some kind of the gestures, the communication is made but there are times when an individual experiences communication to happen even when there is the presence of the silence. So there are times when the silence also speaks but the thing is that the interpretation of the same depends a lot on the receiver that how he or she takes this type of the communication. The communication is not the art of any artist or any one else but it flows in a very continuous manner with the incorporation of the different types of the activities that are dependent on each other and also are inter related in the nature. When one conveys something or the other to the another individual in the form of the speaking or the writing or the gestures, the communication can never be said to be at the completed stage as this is just the first phase, the communication is said to be complete only when the other party also gets it or in the other words understands it and when this happens then the process is said to be completed and hence in the other words the communication is said to be completed. So the process of the communication can never be the one way traffic as it is necessary to get any type of the feedback from the receiving party to ensure that the communication has been completed and hence it obliges the model of the 2 way traffic.

A lot of the things in this world tend to work on the perceptions and hence the perceptions play a very critical role in the whole process of the communication. The perceptions of the human beings tend to give the meaning to the various forms of the signs or the gestures or the various forms of the objects that are made and all this is done with the help of the 5 senses that are prevalent and all these senses play a very critical role in the whole process of the communication. The 5 senses are see, hear, touch, taste and feel and all these play a very dominant part in the process of the communication at the various times depending on the various situations that arise from time to time. There is limited access to the sensory receptors and as a result of this a small part can be detected of the whole of the phenomenon and hence the communication at this point of the time becomes selective in the nature. Communication is such a mode of expression that is accepted universally. All the living creatures including the human beings, beasts, birds and many more are able to communicate with the help of the various types of the signs and the symbols.

Communication is that particular process that is accepted socially world wide as with the help of the communication and individual or group of individual are able to satisfy the basic desires and the needs in the form of the exchange of the non verbal, written or spoken message as it is with help of the communication that individuals are able to interact with each other, bridging the gap of the understanding between the individuals. The communication consists of certain specific elements that help in the understanding and the sharing of the information between the individuals. These elements include the sender, message, encoding, channel, receiver, decoding and then ultimately the feedback. The sender is the one who actually starts the whole process of the communication as he or she is the one who possesses the certain kind of the information that needs to be moved further. The sender is the one who is every less affected by the choice of the words, symbols or the date and hence simply uses them for transferring the information to the others. After that comes the message that are just the indicative if the respective meaning and are not at all the meanings itself. The information or the idea that is available with the centre and that needs to be conveyed or transferred and when this information or the idea is conveyed in the physical form that can be transferred and then understood with the help of the sensory receptors of the receivers that include hearing, touching, feeling, smelling and seeing. The message is transferred by the sender with certain thinking and a mindset but how it is taken by the receiver depends on the mind of the receiver and not at all on the message. After this comes the element of encoding that is actually the use of the proper words, gestures, symbols or may be any other form of expression just in order to transfer the intentional message of the sender but this message or the information needs a certain platform or the channel and this channel actually acts as a medium that is used to actually transfer the message from the sender to the receiver. These channels can be memos, letters, e-mails, telephones etc. the message is sent by the sender and who receives and then finally perceives the message acts as the receiver and he or she is the one who adds certain attachments of some meaning to the whole message. When the message that is intended is received by the receiver in a certain situation acts as an excellent communication situation. But the situations tend to vary from time to time and situation can become imperfect too. In such situations the message or the information that is sent by the sender in the form of the written message may be lying under heaps of paper in the room of the recipients or if the communication is made in the listening mode the same may be ignored or at times may be forgotten by the listener. In other words it can be said that no type of the communication is said to have taken place if there is no presence of the receiver. After this comes the element of the decoding. When a message is sent by the sender it cannot be assumed as a sure shot guarantee that the same will be conveyed to receiver as well. As there is also a possibility in such a case that the message is understood in a different spirit or the sense. This happens mainly when the message that is sent by the sender is decoded in a different manner. When the message is sent by the sender, he sender tends to convey the information with a certain meaning but the meaning itself is not written in the message so it becomes almost very important that how the same is decoded and how the receiver takes whole of the information with the help of all of the stuff that is already present in his mind before decoding. The more the meaning of information of the sender relates with that what is understood by the receiver directly corresponds to how much effective the communication has been. At the last, comes the element of the feedback and this element is very necessary and also very critical to complete the process of the communication as this actually is the response by the receiver to the sender in response of the information that is transferred by the sender to the receiver. This response that is sent by the receiver inn the response can be in form of the signs, smiles or any other reaction or several other questions that may be initiated or may involve the calling for the further affirmations or the explanations that may be initiated by the receiver in the response of the sender’s information as there are times when he may understand something else in response of the data that is sent to him and when ever this happens the receiver may ask for more related clarifications just to have an in depth understanding of the matter and with this step the whole process of the communication is said to be completed. So the information with a certain meaning moves from one source to the other but how it reached the other side depends on the over all movement and the receiving by the receiver at that particular time depending up on the various situations that may be prevalent at that time.
